U of C Aquatic Centre

I acted as the Project Manager during the annual pool shut-downs in 2007 & 2008 to perform an extensive list of upgrades to the pool area and the mechanical plant. No General Contractor was on site so I was tasked to coordinate the work of all the sub-trades on a tight schedule including such work as: removal of existing concrete diving tower, removal of all overhead lighting and replacement with new energy efficient pendant fixtures, under water pool lighting, tile work, roof pipe drain replacement, pipe and pump replacements, asbestos removal in mechanical plant, painting of walls, beams & ceiling, installation of new fall arrest system, installation of new starting blocks, bleachers etc.

In my role, I had to coordinate the work and decision making between the Faculty of Kinesiology, Campus Infrastructure, the Aquatics Manager, the University’s Health & Safety Department, as well as structural, mechanical and electrical engineering consultants.
